Encouraging a business-friendly environment while ensuring safety and high-quality design continues to be a priority for the Town of Queen Creek. At the May 15 meeting, the Town Council unanimously approved two ordinances that increase efficiencies for Development Services customers and staff.
Ordinance 836-34 modified the Final Plat application review and approval process authority to the Development Services Director and Ordinance 837-24 modified the application review and approval authority for Residential Design Review to the Planning Administrator, eliminating additional reviews by the Planning Commission or the Town Council.
“The Town continues to evaluate opportunities to increase efficiencies, improve the customer experience and streamline processes,” stated Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley. “These two ordinances are great examples of our commitment to process improvements while maintaining a quality community.”
Final plat applications and residential design review applications are predominately approved on the consent agenda, are approved based on conformance with Town technical standards, and are generally not contentious. Implementing the administrative approval by staff has the potential to reduce each of these application review and approval process by at least two months.
