QCPD Reminds Graduates and Families to Celebrate Safely

Post Date:05/21/2025 9:30 am

As Queen Creek area high school seniors prepare for graduation, QCPD remains committed to ensuring the safety of all graduates, their families and friends during this momentous occasion. “Graduation is a time for celebration and we want to ensure everyone celebrates safely and  responsibly,” stated QCPD Chief Randy Brice.

QCPD reminds all to prioritize safety:

  • Wear seat belts at all times, both drivers and passengers.

  • Expect increased traffic around graduation venues.

  • Avoid distractions in the car and slow down. Distracted driving and speed are two of the most common factors in traffic collisions in Queen Creek.

  • Always be aware of your surroundings.

  • Designate a responsible driver - make responsible choices and avoid substances that impair judgment or decision-making.

  • QCPD will enforce all laws related to alcohol, illegal drugs, and impaired driving.

  • Town curfew for juveniles:

    • 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for 15 and under

    • Midnight to 5 a.m. for 16 and 17-year-olds

  • If you’re hosting a party:

    • Monitor party activities

    • Ensure everyone has a safe way to get home

  • Call QCPD non-emergency (call 9-1-1 in an emergency) in the event of:

    • Illegal activity

    • Excessive noise

    • Overcrowding

    • Traffic issues

QCPD Chief Brice stated, “QCPD will continue to deploy extra officers this weekend. They will be on patrol in neighborhoods, on the roads, and in common areas where teens are known to congregate. We encourage our residents to call us if they have concerns or observe suspicious behavior. QCPD is committed to ensuring the safety of this community. Congratulations to the class of 2025!”
