In honor of Constitution Week, celebrated in mid-September, the Town is hosting an art and poetry contest for K-12 students who attend a school in the Town of Queen Creek.
Entries in the following categories will be accepted through Aug. 21:
• Patriotic Poem
• Piece of art that represents the Constitutional Timeline
Entries can be dropped off at the Municipal Services Building with the entry form, Monday - Thursday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., 22358 S. Ellsworth Road. The Town’s Downtown Arts & Placemaking Advisory Sub-Committee will select the winners, which will be announced at the Sept. 17 Town Council meeting. Prizes will be provided to the top entries by local businesses: Dave & Busters, Fat Cats and Pecan Lake Entertainment Center.

The winner of the patriotic poem will be invited to share their poem at the “Land that I Love” Constitution Concert & Celebration on Sept. 13. Selected entries, including the art contest winners, will be displayed at Founders' Day on Sept. 20.
“Land that I Love” Constitution Concert & Celebration will be held at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature musical performances from Queen Creek high school students and a presentation from special guest lecturer Steven Collis.
Celebrate Queen Creek’s anniversary at Founders’ Day on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 5-9 p.m. at Frontier Family Park, 20039 S. 220th St. Presented by Earnhardt Queen Creek Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, the free event will include fun activities, entertainment, and the exciting Battle of the Badge competition. Select entries will be displayed at the Constitution Week booth. Stop by to view the entries and participate in the Founders’ Fashion Gallop!
