Queen Creek Police Department Awarded $50,000 DUI Enforcement Grant

Post Date:09/05/2025 9:00 am

The Queen Creek Police Department (QCPD) has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the State DUI Abatement Council in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). These funds will be used for overtime expenses, allowing officers to dedicate additional time to increased enforcement efforts throughout Queen Creek.

According to the 2024 Arizona Crash Facts Summary released by the Arizona Department of Transportation, Arizona saw more than 300 alcohol-related fatalities statewide (calendar year 2024).

“The safety of our Queen Creek community is our highest priority,” stated QCPD Chief Brice. “Drinking and driving is a dangerous choice that puts lives at risk. This grant allows us to build on our ongoing DUI enforcement efforts, providing additional resources to ensure everyone in Queen Creek reaches their destination safely.”

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety works to make Arizona’s roads safer through leadership, funding, public awareness, and community engagement. GOHS supports programs that target key safety issues, including speed and reckless driving, impaired driving, occupant protection, motorcycle safety, and pedestrian and bicycle safety.
