On Wednesday, Oct 8, 2025 at approximately 1:50 p.m., QCPD responded to the area of 22900 block of E Rosa Rd for a reported suicidal man in possession of a firearm; he was not located in the home.
He was later located in the vicinity of the 20400 block of Chandler Heights near members of the public. During the contact, an officer involved shooting occurred, striking the man. Lifesaving measures were performed, and he was pronounced dead on scene. A handgun was located on scene.
No officers were injured. This is an active and ongoing investigation. The officer-involved shooting is being handled by Mesa PD as part of the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team (EVCIRT).
A life was lost, and we don’t take that lightly. We remain committed to the safety of our community and our officers.
