At the Nov. 5 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council was presented with awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED).

GFOA awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Queen Creek for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This is the 20th year the Town of Queen Creek has received this recognition.

AAED awarded the Town of Queen Creek with the Golden Prospector Award for their inaugural economic development report in the Marketing Brochure Category. The Town’s economic development department produced their first annual report in 2024, highlighting demographics, accolades, and development opportunities in Queen Creek. The Golden Prospector Award honors significant contributions to the advancement of economic development in the state of Arizona.
