The Queen Creek Police Department (QCPD) is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that occurred on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, near the intersection of Riggs Road and Ellsworth Road.

Preliminary information indicates that a sports car traveling eastbound on Riggs Road at a speed exceeding 130 miles per hour collided with another eastbound passenger vehicle. Following the initial impact, the sports car lost control, crossed into the westbound lanes, and collided head-on with a westbound sedan.

The driver and sole occupant of the sports car, a 20-year-old Kyle Campbell, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The westbound sedan was occupied by four individuals. The driver, a 25-year-old Eduardo Chavez Diaz, had to be mechanically extricated and was pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult female passenger and two children, who were properly secured in child restraints, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second eastbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

QCPD’s Vehicular Crimes Unit (VCU) is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.

While the investigation remains ongoing, tragedies such as this serve as a reminder that the decisions we make behind the wheel can have life-altering and irreversible consequences.”
