At its June 3 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council unanimously approved Ordinance 891-26, continuing the Town’s five-year property tax freeze policy for the fourth consecutive year. The Town's primary property tax rate will be reduced from $1.55 to $1.46 per $100 of assessed value, well below the voter-approved maximum rate established in 2007.
The policy, approved by Town Council in 2022, maintains property taxes for existing property owners while allowing revenues to increase only through new construction. As a result, property taxes for existing residents and businesses will not increase in FY 2026-27.
"This is year four of a property tax freeze, which means year four of lowering our property tax rate,” shared Queen Creek Council member Jeff Brown who presided over the June 3 meeting. “It is because of the fiscally conservative decisions that this council and councils before us have made that we are able to provide this savings to our residents and businesses.”
For the median-valued home in Queen Creek, the annual primary property tax will remain approximately $429, with no increase since the property tax freeze began. Town residents are expected to realize approximately $5.1 million in savings during FY 2026-27, bringing the total savings over the five-year freeze period to about $20 million.
Queen Creek’s public safety services are funded through primary property taxes and supplemented with the Town’s general fund. The Town’s primary property tax is expected to generate approximately $15.5 million in FY 2026-27.
The primary property tax was approved by voters in 2007. Queen Creek does not have a secondary property tax.
