Queen Creek Celebrates America250 with Summer Activities

Post Date:06/09/2026 12:38 pm

As America’s semiquincentennial approaches, the Town of Queen Creek continues to celebrate with activities and programs recognizing the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Residents can take part in several upcoming activities throughout June and July.

Participate in America’s Potluck
America 250 bannerCelebrate America250 by being QC Neighborly and hosting a potluck on Sunday, July 5. As part of this national effort to organize potlucks in every neighborhood in America, the Town of Queen Creek is encouraging residents to gather, share food, build connections and celebrate what makes us QC Neighborly.

Residents interested in hosting a celebration can sign up to receive a Patriotic Potluck Party Pack. Registration for America's Potluck must be received by June 18.

Eligibility and additional details can be found on the Town’s America250 page.

Celebrate with the Queen Creek Town Council
The Queen Creek Town Council will be recognizing America’s 250th anniversary at the June 17 Town Council Meeting, held at 6:30 p.m. at the Queen Creek Community Chambers, 20727 E. Civic Parkway.

The celebration will include a proclamation recognizing the semiquincentennial and a presentation by the Queen Creek American Legion Post #129 Honor Guard.

Donate Water through Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department
Help neighbors in need by supporting the Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department (QCFMD) Water Bottle Drive. As we approach the hot summer months, QCFMD will be collecting cases of water to provide essential hydration to those most at risk during the extreme heat.

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the goal is to collect 250 cases. Cases can be dropped off at Fire Station 1, 20678 Civic Parkway. Water will also be collected at the June 17 Town Council Meeting.

Get Creative for the Constitution Week Contest
The Town of Queen Creek will once again honor Constitution Week, Sept. 16-23. Queen Creek students are invited to participate in a Constitution Week Art & Poetry Contest that recognizes America250. Students are encouraged to submit either an original poem or piece of artwork that depicts the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Eligibility and details are available on the Town’s Constitution Week webpage

The Town also recently installed America250-themed banners along Ellsworth Road and Town facilities will be lit red, white and blue the week of Independence Day.

Find more opportunities to celebrate throughout the year by visiting the Town’s America250 webpage. The page will be updated as new opportunities arise.
