The Town's annual budget gives staff authority to spend funds in pursuit of policy goals set by the Town Council. Resources are assigned based on priorities set by elected officials. The Town has won several awards for the development of its budget, and its budget is often used as a financial model for other small, fast-growing communities within the state. The Town’s fiscal year is from July 1 to June 30.

Getting Involved - Your Input Matters!

Every year by mid-July, each Arizona city and town is required by law to adopt a balanced budget that is open to citizen input and participation. Annually, before the budget is adopted, residents are given the opportunity to provide input into determining what is important in their community and how much they are willing to pay for services they choose.

Learn more about municipal budgets in this Arizona Cities@Work video. Remember, your input matters!

Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The Town has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award 21 years in a row.

The Town of Queen Creek strives each year to excel in its budget process and presentation. The Town was once again awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 2022/23 fiscal year.

To receive the award, a municipality must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, an operations guide, a financial plan and a communication device.
