This is a developmental program designed to assist individuals interested in a possible career in the fire service. QCFMD fire engine

The program teaches basic fundamentals of firefighting, fire service culture, discipline, physical fitness, and the value of community service to the Town of Queen Creek.

Cadets get a wealth of instruction and opportunities to learn and perform duties commonly demonstrated within the firefighting profession such as physical training, interview preparation, and fire ground knowledge skills. The advisors to the cadet program are full-time Queen Creek firefighters.

Qualifications

To become a Fire Cadet, candidates must be between the ages of 18-35, successful in the selection process including an extensive background check, drug & alcohol and driving record screenings, and uphold the standards of the program.

Upon selection, cadets will be eligible to ride with fire crews for up to 12-hour shifts. Cadets commit to one year of service to the Town of Queen Creek, attend monthly meetings on one Saturday per month, as well as perform 6 hours of community service per quarter.

Cadet applications are reviewed monthly. Based on the program availability interviews are conducted at the time of vacancies.
