The Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department is currently hiring firefighter recruits. Applications will be accepted from March 12 - April 1, 2026

The minimum qualifications for the firefighter recruit positions include:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent;
At least 18 years of age at the time of application;
A valid driver’s license; and
Ability to obtain EMT or Paramedic license
Have a valid CPAT provided by an IAFF/IAFC licensee

Question: Am I required to apply with the city or fire department prior to testing?

Answer: Yes, you must follow the steps explained on the Public Safety Answers (PSA)/ Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) landing page. You will need to apply with the Town, register with PSA, take the written test and
video tape your first-round interview. All steps and instructions are on the PSA/QCFMD
landing page.

Answer: You will follow the directions on the Public Safety Answers (PSA)/ Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) landing page The online test is one of the mandatory steps during this recruitment.

Question: Is there a fee to register for the online test?

Answer: Yes, the cost to register for the online firefighter test is $50.00. This will be collected during the registration at PSA.

Question: How will I receive access to take the online test?

Answer: A link to the test will be available on the Public Safety Answers (PSA)/ Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) landing page.

Question: How much time will I have to take the online written test?

Answer: There is no designated time frame. Typical test takes 40-60 mins

Question: How do I contact support during the online test?

Answer: All support needs are answered in the instructions upon registering at PSA

Question: What do I need to be able to take the test online?

Answer: In order to take the test, candidates must ensure they have or can do the following:

Laptop or desktop computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems) with a working webcam and microphone.
Be sure internet service provider is working for the entire test.
Candidates may use their cell phone, iPad, tablet or Chromebook to take test
and interview.

Question: Can I start the test and take a break and then access the test again?

Answer: You will be provide with all test instructions after registration on the Public Safety Answers (PSA)/ Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) landing page.

Question: Do I need a webcam to take the test?

Answer: You do need a webcam and microphone to take the online test.
