Pavement Preservation Program

Fall - Ranch Jardines

The Town of Queen Creek has contracted with Cactus Asphalt to conduct pavement preservation treatment for streets in the Rancho Jardines Units 1, 2 and 4 neighborhoods on the east and west sides of Sossaman Road, north of Chandler Heights Road.  This treatment consists of two separate surface applications.

To prepare for the upcoming asphalt surface treatment, scheduled to take place Oct. 27 – 31, crews will be on site to trim any grass encroaching onto the asphalt and will also trim any trees overhanging the road to provide 14’ clearance per the Town’s Code (Article 10-3-2). If residents prefer to trim the trees on their property which overhang the street themselves, they will need to be trimmed prior to Oct. 27.

Following this work, expected to take place in early November, crews will first apply a Fractured Aggregate Surface Treatment (FAST) as a base coat, followed by a final surface seal.

Impacted residents will receive a door hanger in advance of the surface treatments with confirmed dates and additional details for their neighborhood and signage will also be posted on the road to let them know work will begin soon.

For these applications, access will be restricted for only a brief period (typically 30 minutes or less) while work takes place directly in front of driveways. To avoid the possibility of getting the tar-like substance on cars or driveways, please plan NOT to enter or exit driveways while the application process is occurring. Some sloughing, or small loose rocks, on the roadway is expected and will be minimized by the final seal which takes place soon following the FAST application.

On-street parking will be restricted during these activities, and No Parking signs will be placed in advance of work taking place. Cars left on the street may be towed. Impacted residents should have their trash and recycle carts out by 6 a.m. on collection days. Water may damage the installation of the surface treatment.  Residents should avoid having sprinklers set to come on 24 hours before the application dates, during the application, or 24 hours after the application.  In the event of inclement weather or resource availability issues, work will be rescheduled, and impacted residents will be renotified via door hanger.

Thank you for your patience during this work.
