Pavement Preservation Program
Spring Seal Coat Program: The Town of Queen Creek has contracted with Holbrook Asphalt to conduct pavement preservation treatment for streets in the Victoria Heights community and on Legado Blvd, Jacaranda Blvd, Pine Valley Drive and Twin Acres Drive in the Legado community. Due to the nature of this work and to prevent damage to the new surface and driveways, streets designated for pavement preservation treatment will be CLOSED for travel for 12 hours while work takes place. The closing of roads for this work has been sequenced to minimize the distance to residences from where vehicles may need to be parked. Please have trash receptacles out by 6 a.m. on collection days.
Residents on streets being sealed will receive a door hanger in advance of the work with the scheduled dates for their neighborhood and signage will also be posted on the road to let them know work will begin soon. Signage will be in place to direct travelers around the closures.
Streets being treated will be closed at 7 a.m. on the day of application and the road will not be available for travel for any purposes. If access to vehicles is needed during the road closure, vehicles should be parked outside of the area designated as closed in the door hanger distributed by the contractor.
Water may damage the installation of the surface treatment. Please do not have sprinklers set to come on 24 hours before the road closure, during the road closure, or 24 hours after the road closure. ROADS THAT CANNOT BE TREATED ON THE SCHEDULED DAY DUE TO WEATHER OR EQUIPMENT ISSUES WILL FALL TO THE END OF THE SCHEDULE AND IMPACTED RESIDENTS WILL BE RE-NOTIFIED BY DOOR HANGER AND THE PROJECT WEBSITE WILL BE UPDATED.

Asphalt Rejuvenator Application
As part of Queen Creek’s Pavement Preservation Program, contractor crews are scheduled to apply an asphalt rejuvenator application to several streets as noted below. The asphalt rejuvenator is an oil-based emulsion which penetrates the asphalt in 30 – 40 minutes. This process is designed to enhance durability, seal the asphalt pavement and reduce maintenance costs, extending the lifetime of the roads.
Traffic will be shifted around the work area and access to residences and businesses will be maintained. Crews will be on site to assist with the management of traffic.
Work is scheduled to begin May 18 in the order noted below:
- Power Road, Chandler Heights Road to Ocotillo Road
- Chandler Heights Road, Power Road to Sossaman Road
- North side of Brooks Farm Road, just west of Power Road
- Recker Road, between Ocotillo Road and Stone Crest Drive
- 196th Street, between Ocotillo Road and Mansel Carter Park
- 206th Street, north of Riggs Road to end of the street
- 194th Street and Vallejo Street in the San Tan Vistas Ranch community
- Fulton Parkway, between Germann Road and Ellsworth Road
Arroyo de la Reina Mill and Overlay
Streets in the Arroyo de la Reina community, on the northwest corner of Ocotillo Road and Hawes Road, are scheduled for a mill (asphalt removal) and asphalt pavement overlay.
Scheduled to take place May 20, crews will pre-lower utilities, such as manholes and valves, to prevent damage during the milling process.
Scheduled to take place June 3 - 4, crews will remove the existing asphalt surface from the roadway and repave the roads. Roads will remain open with flaggers on site to assist with the management of traffic. Residents will receive a door hanger with confirmed dates and additional details prior to the milling and paving. Following this work, scheduled for June 5, crews will raise utilities flush with the new road surface.
Access will be maintained to the extent possible; however, there will be restrictions as work crosses side streets and driveways. On-street parking will not be permitted, and “No Parking” signs will be placed in advance of work taking place. Residential services (sanitation and postal) should not be affected.
Thank you for your patience during this work.
