A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of April.
Mayor Wheatley attended the ribbon cutting for Eggstasy on April 1, providing welcome remarks to the new breakfast and lunch restaurant.
At the April 2 Town Council Meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council recognized the first 2025 Star Student and Star Teacher recipients.
The Newell Barney Robucs Robotics Team was also recognized for taking first place in the State Championship.
The Queen Creek Town Council issued a proclamation in recognition of Week of the Young Child, which takes place April 5 - 11 and welcomed individuals from the Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children and First Things First.
The Town Council also proclaimed National Volunteer Month and issued a proclamation in recognition of the Town becoming a JustServe Community.
A proclamation was issued recognizing Earth Month and the Town's Environmental Division presented the Town Council with its receipt of the Arizona Forward Crescordia Award in Environmental Education and Communication.
In addition, the Queen Creek Police Department was honored for receiving an accreditation by the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.
On April 4, Mayor Wheatley and Council Member Brown attended the opening of the Future48 Workforce Accelerator Facility and received a project progress tour of the LG Energy Solution Project.
Mayor Wheatley provided remarks at the opening.
At the April 16 Town Council Meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council Members recognized Queen Creek Civics Bee finalists.
The Town Council also proclaimed April 21-27 as Work Zone Awareness Week, recognizing Town employees who work in workzone spaces.
Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller attended the April 16 Town Council Meeting to help the Council recognize Crime Victims' Awareness Week.
Mayor Wheatley and Town Council Members also recognized the remaining 2025 Star Students and 2025 Star Teachers.
Mayor Julia Wheatley and Council Members Bryan McClure and Dawn Oliphant attended the April 17 For our Town Meeting.
Mayor Wheatley attended the Pinal Partnership Emerging Leaders event at Fat Cats Queen Creek on April 17, where she provided welcome remarks to the attendees.
On April 22, Council Member Jeff Brown attended an event at Pinal County with San Tan Valley Incorporation proponents submitting more than 10,000 signatures to the County so that they can put the question to voters in August.
QC Volunteers held their Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on April 24. Vice Mayor Martineau provided remarks and recognized the volunteers for their hours of service. Volunteers who had provided 48 hours or more within the last year were honored during the dinner, held at the QC Junction Cafe.
The Queen Creek Rotary Club hosted their third annual Rotary Run for Resilience on April 26 at the Pecan Lake Entertainment Center. Vice Mayor Martineau welcomed attendees and Council Member McClure participated in the event.
The San Tan Historical Society also held an event to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Old Rittenhouse School on April 26. Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown and McClure were in attendance.
The East Valley Mayor's Prayer Breakfast was held on April 30 in Tempe, with Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning and McClure attending on behalf of Queen Creek.
Council Member Benning and Council Member McClure attended the Central Arizona Project East Valley Cities and Towns Dinner on April 30 in Gilbert.
