A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of December.

The Queen Creek Hometown Christmas kicked off with the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 5. Vice Mayor Martineau provided remarks and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure and Oliphant helped with the countdown to the tree lighting.

The Queen Creek Hometown Christmas Parade was held on Dec. 6 and Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure and Oliphant rode in the parade on the Town's historic fire engine!

On Dec. 13, Council Members McClure and Oliphant participated in the annual Wreaths Across America event at San Tan Memorial Gardens, with Council Member Oliphant providing remarks.

The Queen Creek Menorah Lighting was held Dec. 16. Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure and Padilla attended.

The Queen Creek Senior Program held their annual holiday luncheon on Dec. 17. Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown, McClure and Oliphant served lunch to attendees.

At the Dec. 17 Town Council Meeting, the Town Council recognized For our Town Queen Creek for their efforts in serving the community over the last two years. Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla took a photo with the For our Town Planning Committee.

The Town Council also recognized Brian Webster with the Queen Creek Citizen Award in honor of his heroic acts helping his neighbor save their pets from a house fire.
