A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of February.
On Feb. 1, the Black Heritage Connection held their annual Queen Creek Black History Month Celebration at Desert Mountain Park. Mayor Wheatley issued a proclamation in honor of Black History Month and Council Member McClure also attended.
JustServe held its annual day of service on Feb. 1 with Mayor Wheatley and Council Members McClure and Padilla participating.
Council Member Bryan McClure attended the 150th Anniversary Celebration for Pinal County on Feb. 1.
Eggstasy opened their Queen Creek location at the QC District and several Council Members attended their opening, including Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Brown and McClure.
At the Feb. 5 Town Council Meeting, Mayor Wheatley and the Town Council recognized the Town's Digital Media Specialist John Zetmeir and members of the Town's Communications Resource Team for receiving Changemaker of the Year and Website of the Year Awards from Granicus.
The Town Council also recognized the QCPD school resource officers in honor of School Resource Officer Day, which is celebrated on Feb. 15.
Additionally, the Town Council recognized retiring Park Ranger Ron Jones for his years of service to the Town.
The Queen Creek Kiwanis Club celebrated their 40th Anniversary on Feb. 8 and Mayor Wheatley issued a proclamation in their honor at the Feb. 5 Town Council Meeting.
On Feb. 8, Council Member Bryan McClure and his wife Michelle attended the Compassion Connect Gala at Schnepf Farms.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Member McClure participated in the ribbon cutting of Slick City Action Park on Feb. 12.
The Apache Junction State of the City was held on Feb. 12, with Council Members Benning and McClure attending to represent Queen Creek Town Council.
Queen Creek Economic Development held an entrepreneurship networking event on Feb. 13. Mayor Wheatley provided welcome remarks and Council Members McClure and Oliphant also attended.
QCPD and QCFMD held their annual Public Safety Day on Feb. 22. Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla were in attendance.
Council Member Benning read a proclamation on behalf of the Town of Queen Creek at the International Mother Language Day event in Chandler on Feb. 22.
In partnership with the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, The Town Council presented the Queen Creek State of the Town on Feb. 25.
Mayor Wheatley hosted a panel of Mayor's Teen Advisory Committee Members at the State of the Town.
Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Member Jeff Brown attended a soft opening celebration event at the Queen Creek BBQ Company on Feb. 27.
