A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of June.
The Town held its annual What's Poppin' in QC event on June 3 at the Queen Creek Recreation Center. Mayor Wheatley and Council Members McClure, Oliphant and Padilla attended the event and spoke with attendees.
At the June 4 Town Council Meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council recognized American Legion Duane Ellsworth Post 129 for 20 years of service to the Queen Creek Community.
Mayor Wheatley and Council Members Benning, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla also honored Queen Creek community member Connor Povar at the June 4 Town Council Meeting.
The inaugural Mayor's Teen Advisory Committee attended the June 4 Town Council Meeting to provide a Committee Report and presented Mayor Wheatley with a commemorative scrapbook of the first year of the Committee.
A banquet was held on June 17 to honor the Mayor's Teen Advisory Committee and Mayor Wheatley and Council Member Oliphant attended to congratulate members. Mayor Wheatley also provided remarks.
Mayor Wheatley served her final meeting as the Chair of the Mesa Gateway Airport Authority on June 17. She participated in the "passing of the gavel" to the new Chair.
The ribbon cutting for the Queen Creek Family Resource Center was held on June 18. Mayor Wheatley provided remarks and Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Member McClure also attended to participate in the ribbon cutting.
Mayor Wheatley also participated in her final meeting as the Chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Policy Committee on June 18. She will continue to serve on the Committee as Past Chair.
