A recap of what your Town Council has been up to during the month of March.
Mayor Wheatley attended the Seoul InterBattery Conference with representatives from Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Salt River Project to help promote additional investment opportunities in Queen Creek.
At the March 5 Town Council Meeting, Vice Mayor Martineau and Town Council Members recognized members from the Town's procurement department with a Procurement Month Proclamation.
Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning, Brown, McClure, Oliphant and Padilla also recognized student athletes from Benjamin Franklin High School for recent participation in games and tournaments.
At the March 5 Meeting, Economic Development Project Manager Marissa Garnett was recognized by Town Council members for being named a 2025 Economic Development 40 Under 40 honoree by Development Counsellors International.
The Town Council proclaimed Roots n' Boots week at the March 5 Town Council meeting and members of the Friends of Horseshoe Park presented Town Council with an award recognizing Roots n' Boots as a Top 5 Small Rodeo by PRCA.
Mayor Wheatley attended the ribbon cutting for the McDonald's Citrus Heights location on March 7.
On March 8, Council Member Benning attended the Arizona Forward Awards with the Town of Queen Creek Environmental Team. The Town received a Crescordia Award in Environmental Education and Communication.
On March 10, Mayor Wheatley joined the Arizona Commerce Authority to meet with Choi Joong-Kyung, Special Presidential Envoy and Ambassador for Investment and Industrial Cooperation, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea.
The Roots n' Boots Queen Creek Rodeo was held March 12 - 16 at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre. Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning, McClure and Oliphant all attended and participated in the various festivities, including providing remarks and riding in the Town Council wagon.
At the March 19 Town Council Meeting, Mayor Wheatley and the Town Council recognized Queen Creek Little League members for an act of friendship and kindness.
The Queen Creek Police Department was also recognized by Council at the March 19 meeting for theft protection provided to Target.
Council Members Benning and Oliphant attended Spring into QC on March 22, with Council Member Oliphant kicking off the event and Council Member Benning announcing the egg races.
Queen Creek Firefighter Charities held a fundraiser on March 25, with Mayor Wheatley and Council Members McClure and Oliphant attending.
Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a celebration on March 28, with several Town Council members in attendance.
Mayor Wheatley, Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Members Benning, McClure and Oliphant attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center on March 29.
Vice Mayor Martineau and Council Member McClure attended the House of Refuge Gala on March 29.
