Julia Wheatley serves as the Mayor of Queen Creek, Arizona, with her term spanning from January 2023 to January 2027. She was elected in August 2022, following a tenure as a Town Council member that began in June 2010, and was subsequently re-elected in November 2014 and August 2018.

Wheatley actively engages in several key regional committees. She is a member of the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Council, holding the position of Vice Chair, and serves on its Executive Committee and Transportation Policy Committee. Mayor Wheatley also participates in the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Executive Committee, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Mayors and Supervisors Council and is the Treasurer of the Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Board of Directors. Her previous leadership roles include chairing the MAG Transportation Policy Committee and the Mesa Gateway Airport Authority, as well as serving as a GPEC board member.

An Arizona native, Wheatley earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice. She and her husband, Benjamin, have lived in Queen Creek since 2007, where they raise their four children and own a mortgage and real estate company.
