Robin Benning was appointed to the Town Council in November of 2009 and was elected in 2012. He won re-election in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Council Member Benning represents Queen Creek on the East Valley Transportation Infrastructure Stakeholder Committee, the Pinal Regional Transportation Authority Board where he serves as Chairman of the Board, as well as the Central Arizona Governments Regional Council, where he serves as the Vice Chair. He also serves on the Town's Transportation Advisory Committee. Benning is a graduate of Queen Creek's Citizen Leadership Institute. 

Benning moved to Arizona in 1989 and has worked in Queen Creek since 1997 and lived here since 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of New Mexico, a Master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from Arizona State University, and a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Arizona State University. He has certificates from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a member of the International Code Conference, the National Fire Prevention Association, and the US Green Building Council. In his spare time he enjoys reading, music, theater, travel, sketching, and social media.
