The Town of Queen Creek is offering a financial incentive to help businesses, HOAs, and commercial properties convert natural grass to low-water-use landscaping and/or limited artificial turf. Whether you manage a business, oversee a park or school, or help maintain common areas in a community association, we want to help you use water more efficiently.

Program Overview

Qualified non-residential businesses and organizations can receive $2 per square foot, up to $20,000 per property (annually), to remove natural grass and install low-water-use landscaping and/or limited artificial turf. Please note that projects may not begin without written approval, and projects that have already begun or been completed are not eligible for this incentive.

How to Apply

You'll need the following information & documentation:

  • Entity verification from AZ Corporation Commission website

    • You can find this by searching arizonabusinesscenter.azcc.gov/businesssearch for your entity or business name, then copy and paste the page URL for your entity into the application. If you have questions, please contact Conservation staff.

  • Queen Creek water account number(s) (or upload utility bill(s))

  • Scope of Work that describes your proposed project and specifies the relevant low-water-use landscaping you will be installing. Please include the property boundaries, areas to be converted, location of new plants, and details about plants (species, quantities, rough sizes, and groundcover details).

Once you submit your application, the following two documents will be emailed to you through a secure file transmission service to request information for processing your final incentive.

  • W-9 Tax Form with your Tax ID or EIN water conservation. Incentives at and over $2,000 will receive a 1099 form for tax purposes. Water conservation incentives are currently not tax exempt, so we are required to collect a W-9 tax form. If your incentive is $2,000 or more, you will receive a 1099 in the next year to file with your taxes. We are collecting this form for all projects, even if they are less than $2,000.

  • ACH Direct Deposit Form - Incentive payments are issued as a direct deposit once your project is completed and passed all requirements and inspections.

These documents must be completed and returned within the 120 day project timeline. These forms are emailed separately via a secure file transmission service to ensure your information is protected.
