The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiated requirements under the revised Lead and Copper Rule. The rule requires municipalities to identify the water service pipe material connected to each home and business served in effort to identify and remove any lead service lines. The Town has verified 99.99% of the Town service line materials, all of which have been identified as non-lead. The remaining 0.0002 percent have not been identified due to accessibility issues. As such, the service line material at those properties is currently listed as unknown. Homes and businesses listed as unknown were mailed a notice.

It is unlikely that the remaining service lines are made of lead. However, the only way to verify this is through an inspection. If you received a letter, please contact us to

schedule a time for the Town to access the property with your representative to determine the service line materials. Call (480) 358-3459 or email waterquality@queencreekaz.gov.

Due to lead piping being banned in 1988, only water lines constructed prior to 1989, and that could not be verified through records, were inspected.
